Updating excel from a word file
Then open this file in Open XML SDK 2.0 Productivity Tool.
Then find the edits you are interested in to see how it is represented in Open XML format , as well as how to do that programmaticaly. I let myself to repost the code sample (posted on MSDN Forum by Ji Zhou) just to avoid the deletion of original thread there.
This affects Excel 2016 Version 1802 (Build 9029.2167).
STATUS: WORKAROUND Microsoft is investigating this issue.
You'll still need to update the chart in the report before you print it, but you can have Word do this for you.
Choose Tools » Options, click the Print tab, and check the "Update links" box.
This works fine, but it means that to make sure it's up to date, I need to paste in the chart about five seconds before I print the documentwhich feels more than a little tense.The data in Excel is made up out of column headers and row headers with list of marks under it.I’ve got to change the marks in Excel a lot of time’s, but I don’t want to change the Word document all the time.My department keeps its production data in an Excel spreadsheet with a chart that gives a quick idea of how things are going.I need to put that chart in our Monday-and-Thursday report for a visual update.
